Also known as the natural rules for writing believable and relatable conflict into fiction! I wrote that as a joke and then it made me sad. While this would satisfy the traditional rules of storytelling a modern screenwriter would have reversed the order and delivered the emotional payload first and then a pithy one liner to break up the tension before viewers had too much time for somber introspection. The tandem charge warhead designed to penetrate the layered irony protecting contemporary audiences.
